OSO can’t really afford to lose more people. Between FB and the older generations moving on…this forum has been dying a slow death for a while.

I remember when this place was rocking, you would go take a piss, come back hit new posts and there would be 4 pages.. I remember going places and meeting people in IRL... I cant begin to count the people I have actually met, boated and drank with over the years.

OSO is always my first go to site and have enjoyed a great deal since 2009. Regardless of FB and others I believe managed and marketed correctly OSO can remain #1. I sure would like to see it be. If it’s a mod hiding in the closet over this then come out and be upfront. Icdedppl always is!!!

I haven't made many posts here in a long time. About a decade ago, I found myself going to other places that were more interesting and more informative without the drama and cheerleading that was prevalent on OSO. This very topic amongst other things.

The biggest issue I had was that there seemed to be about a dozen golden boys who thought they ran the site and anything you said which challenged it or went against the grain, you were flamed for it and forever banned from speaking.

It got old so I moved on. Unfortunately that drama carried over eventually to the other places and those places became a cesspool of negativity and drama as well. So now, I keep to myself... Share with my friends and post updates on my company page, that's about it.

I’m sure it’s being addressed and will get resolved but will just have to go through the proper channels. Heck Dan will probably get a little more accomplished until then 👍!!! Glad to see the support for a fellow OSO member though but he’ll be back. 😎

There isn’t a whole lot of interesting projects going on here now, might be able to count on one hand what those are (threads about boats with tops and external propulsion I don’t consider interesting)

Dan has 2 multiple page threads going on now and he gets banned….if the goal was to
“reduce” the amount of views the forums receives, your on the right track

There's really no good answer but I agree that this site used to be better and has potential to be alot better.

True that! I’d think he’d overlook his “quiet time” if it gets handled quickly. If not I’d likely cop a tude if I were him. Lot of good people you meet here. I’d hate to see fall apart as I’m no big fan of FB etc either.

When this is all said and done, I do not FB, Twatter or any other SM, because I would be banned for life on all the sites. I have relied on OSO and other exchange forums for a long time. I like all boating and honest opinions and answers. I sell my stuff on these sites and buy from trusted other members. If you scam me, you will wish you were in hell when I am done with you and your reputation or so called scheme. To me, these sites are for honest exchange and trades. I don't remember everything, but I remember those who fruck my friends and me over. Just sayin....

It was intended to be permanent, but once I clarified the overall situation with IB, they agreed he should not have been banned. It just took me a little longer than I expected to get it resolved.

BTW, even "time outs" show "banned" but whenever I have given one, I make sure the members know its a time out.

I actually talked to Johnson Lifters tech support yesterday. Very informative on explaining the manufacturing process and the plus' and minus'. Marine Kinetics was their suggested supplier. Will give Ron a call, thanks for the information.
