OK, SB's last comment was it would be best to use ARP bolts (they come with washers) for your motor.

For the moment pay no attention to the ARP bolt set I previously mentioned

The bolt length in your pics are about 3.5 inch, so both are short bolts, and the torque spec you found for a 502 seems a little light

Do you have 3 different lengths of bolts or just 2 ? Also what year is your motor, or better yet if you have a serial number?

If you want to be certain post a picture of the head of the bolt but I am almost certain that those are stock head bolts. I would torque them all to 75 which is the torque spec for the 600hp Mercruiser 502. That is with oil on the threads.

OK, looks like Gen VI block and 088 heads all good.
For factory bolts the torque pattern and spec is in pic below

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d198c42a76.jpg

If you go with ARP bolts, then the max torque is 70 FT LB on all. Use same pattern to torque in passes but only go to 70. Bolts listed above is what you would use.

Also the kit comes with 4 short, 4 long and 12 in the middle. The long ones are not much longer then the middle and go only in spots 14 and 15 on each side

So go with the spec above..Max torq 92ft-lbs on all bolts

No, no, no
It says 89ft-bs on short bolts and 92ft-lb on long. This is if you use the ones you have now.

SB said it would be better to use ARP with your blower

Also oil the bottom of the shoulder on the head of the bolt, where it contacts the head.
Are you reusing bolts or new bolts?
