Has anyone done away with the rear air purge side of the pump all together? Say would 862776a02 be a direct bolt on, I would assume pickup and discharge lines would need to be lengthened. I dont see myself ever using the air pump or is there a better option if replacing the rear half is needed due to scoring?

This is EXACTLY what I did. I went to the plastic backing plate and got rid of the leaking actuators. Saved a bunch of weight too. Yes, the hoses are a little short, but I managed to pull them on to the back of the housing with a little force and some play in the hoses.

Also, you may want to get the 862776A01 part as it does not have the pressure sender port (which you don't need). Otherwise the A02 part will need a brass plug to close that opening.

Would be even better if the hoses reach, mine are already pretty taught so I dbt mine would. What did you do with the air line? Cap them or just leave them.
