If it is the gimbel ring which I assume it is… I got one quote so far:
Gimbal ring=$1547.00 swivel pin=$320.00 steering leaver=$300.00 plug kit=$30.00 Swivel pin seal=$28.00 Boots=$300.00 Trim sender (if needed)=$160.00 Labor=$1000.00-$ 1500.00 And they’re pulling the engine… what else can i do to diagnose my problem? |

Sounds like steering arm/tiller arm is loose on steering pin. The u-bolt that sticks through top just above outdrive needs checked periodically

The nut could be either 3/8-24 or 7/16-20 depending on how old your transom is. Nut is #23 here https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/...30969/11210/70 Hmmm there should be a different torque spec for the 3/8 nut but at this moment I cannot find it. |
