Water intake hose
Hello,
I want to change my water intake hose from the inner transom assembly into the sea strainer and then to the sea water pump. My current set up is way too stiff. It is not the stock Merc hose, just some hose I used when rigging my set up years ago. I would like something that is stiff enough keep from collapsing but still flexible enough to be able to work with. I also would like to add a drainage T in near the pump to drain the water in the off season. A quick disconnect would be nice too. I am sure many of you are using some nice set ups that are easy to work with. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...17f405d22f.jpg What do you recommend. Thanks |
I would recommend that if its not causing any problems to just leave it alone:D

Ended up using Shieldsflex II. I wish I had used this years ago as its easy to work with. Added a shut off ball valve between the transom and strainer, and a drain down near the pump.

Shieldsflex is great, most likely one of the best non-braided options
Double check your clamps as it's stiffer than other hoses and clamps need to be a bit more snug |
Post some pics if you got em. I'm looking for options too.
