Sea strainer is a game changer for winterizing.

I installed a Teague sea strainer on my little Baja 272, and winterizing with the pink antifreeze is amazingly easy. Pop the caps off the jugs, start the engine, and just pour them directly into the sea strainer and done. No muffs, siphoning issues, etc.

just passing that on for all of us unlucky shmucks that have to store for the winter.

Where did you install it if you don't mind my asking? Pictures would be cool...thanks.

Closed cooled engine I assume?

Do you warm your engines before you pump the antifreeze in?

I’ve always just used a Rubbermaid and a HF pump.

turn on pump, fire engines, run until exhaust is pink. Works perfect if closed cooling or crossovers/no thermo.

if you have raw water but thermos just put a two way valve in, warm engine on hose and then flip to antifreeze pump once stats open. Get help from local middle schooler as needed….

I liked that move also but I would drain the block and manifolds before running the antifreeze through

My boat came with sea-strainers. I made strainer caps with a garden hose fitting on the top. I connect a 5 gallon jug with a drain hose to the fitting and fill with pink antifreeze. It can sit there 5 min before I start the engine and not leak. Fire it up and watch the bucket slowly drain.....then do the other engine and AC units the same way.

I installed it between the Bravo inlet and pump. It’s tucked away for the winter but I’ll see if I got a pic of it.

That works if it`s closed cooling .. not raw water cooled.
Water in block has to be drained first.

What he said /\ /\ /\
I drain blocks then send 4-5 gallons through the system through the sea strainers.
