Anyone have good or bad things to say about this boat?

I looked at one at the boat show and was impressed with the size of the boat cabin height and beam. I am looking at one with hp500's.

I own a 2000 33zx Daytona with HP500EFI motors. We choose Donzi because of the larger dimensions (9'3" beam 5'9" head room)
an enclosed head you can actualy fit into (I am 6'2"). We were able to order the boat with a generator (could not find another 33' sport boat that offered a generator). We have all the luxury and still run in the low 80's for speed. They are a little over priced but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" also when you go to a Poker Run with a Donzi you dont see 10 other boats like yours.

I am looking at the same boat with hp500's, that is my thought, although a 99 32 Fountain is in the 100K range and 98's run in the 90-100K.

I am a Donzi dealer down at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri so my opinion is a little biased, but I absolutley love the 33ZX. Ride, comfort, and looks; it is all included in this boat. I always say its not how fast you go but who you can beat. All the boats I can run with or beat are running in the low to mid 80's(GPS, Magazine test, Manufacturer claim, whatever,)The magazine test on the Fountains always seem a little optomistic. I was willing to sacrafice a little speed for comfort and room.

@ 1,300 lbs less weight, the Fountain should be faster. FWIW, I have run in the 33 in Gulf nasty 5 - 6' chop. Rides flat and smooth, launches and lands well, no rattles, no worries. The boat we ran had the 575's, properly set up, broken in, and re-propped. Ran 91 on GPS speedo, I have the pics. It's a hell of a boat, no its not a lightweight, but does the name proud.

That is impressive Scott. I am currently shopping the 33ZX. If you get a chance I would love to see the Pics. Go/Stay Donzi. Must have been one hec of a day on the water. See YA!

I saw the Pics and the video. That speedo/Tach were solid. If you want to hear a good shot of 575's from video, check out the short section on the Donzi net. It will also give you a realization of the water these guys were running in and the wind. It was impressive. Maybe PB Mags test driver needs to go on a diet. Have a nice day.
