35 vs 38

Are we talking ZR's .......

I guess it depends on where you are going to run it.
I've run the 1000 Islands Poker Run in a 525 38, and a 525 35. In Poker Run conditions it was really nice to have the extra 3 feet. On 95% of the rest of the time you would spend on the St. Lawrence I think you would appreciate the quicker acceleration, and top end of the 35, but on those days when you needed that extra 3 feet it sure is nice.
Sorry I don't have a cut and dry answer, I think it is going to come down to principle use...

The 35 becomes a drivers boat at high speed (90) whereas the 38 is as stable as can be. If you're looking there's a real nice 2006 38ZR with 525's at Pier57 with only 30hrs on it.

35 vs 38

I moved up from a 33 zx to a 38 zr with Ilmor 710's.
At triple digits the 38 is solid as a rock and in poker run water conditions it is exceptionally stable.

Also, I have been thrilled with the fuel consumption and performance of the Ilmors, not to mention their appearance is a real crowd gatherer at the dock.

What kind of speeds are you seeing out of the 710's?

35zr with 496 vs 525 speeds

Around 80 to 82 with 496, don't have 525 but I think you can expect 90 to 90? Hope this help.

Correction, with 525 i think 90 to 92? May be some one else will chime in. I love my 35, i think it handle very well. I was also in the 38ZR @ Miani boat show with Gene Weeks @ the helm and it sure was a very solid ride. Just wish I have the coin...may be my next one.

the 35ZR runs between 90-93 with 525s, the boat handles well but does become a drivers boat after 90 there is no replacement for length, the big difference between the 35 and 38 is that the 38 is Staggered this gives the boat a even center of gravity so she flys straight and lands more center pad then conventional. I have flown many ZRs and I can tell when you are running over 90 mph its is a comforting feeling when your boat comes down flat, Don't get me wrong the 35ZR is a great boat I don't think there is any boat in the 35 class that can run like the 35ZR but like anything else add 2000lbs another 3 feet and stagger the boat its a completley different animal. I know the 700 Merc package is moving the 38 ZRs at 105mph and she runs solid and the same package in a 38ZRC runs 115.
