1990 donzi blackwido 23'
does anybody have any information on this model,im looking at one but i have no information on this model and was wondering if someone has had one or knows something helpful about this boat ,,thanks for your input

the Donzi BlackWidow is a 24 foot or a 30 foot deep vee no steps no pads usually powered by a BB ford and a OMC drive but there are some merc boats out there , they came in red , yellow, teal colors I have also seen a black one but that is not too common
heavy boats, great riding boats but do have problems with stringer , floor and transom rot as this was an OMC era boat and sometimes Quality was not job one ( but not in all cases some OMC Donzi are very solid well built boats with great fit and finish ) so to find out what you're looking at a survey is a must the 24 was a single motor setup with 2 round "portholes" on each side and the 30 was a twin motor setup with 3 round "portholes" on each side they are uncommon boats and were not made for a long period like 2 years 90 -92 |
Mattboy pretty much summed it up. They are a decent looking boat. It will take some good power to get one to go fast but you will have a good ride. Merc boats are preferable it you want to upgrade power. OMC drives are strong but you will have issues if you want to go to full hydraulic steering, shorties or any other merc type of mods.

Also the OMC stuff is getting more expesive & harder to get as time goes on.. If you find one that already has the merc power in it thats a plus..;) jamie / Lakeside

talk to the owner maybe the info here can negotiate the price down a little the OMC drive when it or if it breaks is easily replaced by the volvo SX basically the same drive same transom housing and that stuff is easily found on ebay
if the boat is solid I would not have a problem running the ford and the omc into the ground then go bigger |
