Am now installing a 525efi and will see how she runs then .
I had jacked my extention box up in what i think was a successful attempt to cure my chinning.Am thinking will be needing a 5 blader then but what pitch . . . suck it and see i

I hate to hear that. The 525 is a good option if you air it out and stomp it in salt water. I run in lakes so I am not as worried about trashing a drive.

Keep me posted on your project.

540, Brodix heads with 8 lbs.

It will continue to pull to 942hp at 9/lbs. I don't run it that hard though. It has plenty of power for that hull

I am looking into punching out my 502 .060 stroking it, porting the heads and running 5 psi of boost. Not sure what that will get me but last year before i blew up the motor I gps it at 80

Mine started as a 502 mag.

You should get into that 80's with that combo. I would think that 85 will come easy.

Eddie Young did my work. He can speck out a cam.

Did you have to ring your head, or what kind of gasket are you running? Also do you have any problems running it hard for a long period of time?

Eddie is a custom engine builder (Young Performance). It is one of his engines. It is built to run. It flows TONS of oil. He bored out the oil passages and had a custom 14 quart pan built. The heads are not ringed. I think he used cometic head gaskets.

It cruises effortlessly at 60-70. I usually run at 60. It is not building boost at that speed. Running hard? I flow all sorts of water and oil. I also have alum heads so they don't heat up as bad. I usually don't run over 80 for too long. It is very stable to 85. Between 85 and 95 it is all good until a side wake upsets it. I had some K planes put on earlier and that seems to help. It is still pulling hard at 95. I am trying a 5 blade to see how that works out.

I am going over to replumb the cooler tomorrow. I am moving up to a 570 cu intercooler tomorrow and moving it to the firewall.

We will see what that does for the intake air temps
