Donzi ZX28 windsheild
I have a 1999 Donzi ZX with the full glass windshield. I want to remove it and replace with the Faring? Has anyone ever done this or know where I can get the Faring? Any resale valve for the Glass Windsheild?

what does the full windshield look like?

It's doable. I have a friend that has this. I think that it costs around $3,500

It is not as easy as just swapping out the glass & bolting in the fiberglass windscreen. If I remember correctly the decks for the windshield boats were formed a bit different. From what I remember the rear wings that meet the glass windshields rear wings is not present on the fiberglass windscreen models for 1. It would be a bit of work & expense to pull of what you are looking to do, but not impossible. If Donzi will sell or even make that windscreen yet I can get it for you. However once the model is not made that part is genrally not available anymore unless it is being also used on a current model. The Zr's windscreen is different. ;) Jamie / Lakeside

If you can Find a fairing for the 1997,1998,1999 model years it is a direct replacement. the deck and area around the cockpit is the same. I am also going to go out on a limb here and say it is the same fairing from a 22 zx and a 25 zx and a 27 zx....lots to choose from here....now get looking and get it done!

I appologize I didnt realize that you had the earlier style. That is a bit different from late 99 & up. The windscreen would probably go on easier than the new ones. However I believe that it is NLA new from Donzi.. ;) Jamie

A few years ago you were wondering about switching your windshield to the fiberglass windscreen on your 1999 28ZX donzi. I am currently looking to switch my fiberglass windscreen to a windshield and I have a 2000 28ZX. Did you ever finish your project and if so do you still have your old windshield? Or do you have any pointers on how you went about the project. Either way any feedback at all will be helpful.
Thanks, Eric |
