43zr handling?

I'm looking at a 43zr and have been told it's not the best handling boat. Anyone able to give me some insight on this model? Thanks.

This doesnt sound right. What specifics did they tell you? What are they comparing it to? These hulls are built to be fast wave crushers that handle well.. Does the person who told you this have any experience with a stepped hull? There is a bit to get used to if you are not used to it, but it doesnt make it bad.. Mind you Im not bashing, Im just curious about why someone would say that.. :) Jamie

it was donzi dealer and we were comparing the 38zr to the 43zr.

What dealer? I have heard nothing but good about the 43 and that they run pretty well over 110mph!

Yes, sounds odd to me too. I also cant imagine what it is that they would have said. I have been in just about all of the Donzi lineup. All that would come to mind at the moment is that it is it is bigger & therefore some reaction times, plane time and speeds would differ depending on power and other variables. But actual BAD handling? ?

I loved my Donzi to death but do recall reading on the 43zr that when it was tested that it was quoted to have "landed kind of hard" in the rough. Don't know exactly what that means but saw it in an article. I do know they fly straight and can definitely handle the rough stuff. I rode in the 38zr and it was as straight-flying as you would expect. After being in a lot of other brands, it is a comfortable ride. Good luck.

I have a 43 Zr and traded up from a 38 Zr. The 38 handled extremely well and the 43 handles even better!!

What kind of top end have you experienced, the one i'm looking at is also equipped with 700's. thanks to everyone for their input to this point. Seems i must have misunderstood the dealer.

I believe the 700 boats run around 93-95mph.

My boat was the one on the cover of power boat magazine. It tested out at 100MPH but i have seen 98 in salt water. I do most of my boating in Lake Erie in the summer and it runs a steady 95MPH and handles the rough stuff extremely well. Where are you from Greg?
