35ZR w/496HO's Speed?

Looking to get into a nice used boat and am looking between 30-35' boats. One that model that has caught my eye is the 35ZR but most have 496HO's. I have been told by a couple dealers that this boat with those motors will run 80-82... Any truth to that? Really looking for an 80MPH+ boat so I don't want to be disappointed!
Thanks,
Evan
PS- Anything else to look out for on the 35ZR's??

OL40SVX 05-20-2009 11:17 AM

That's what they run

Ocean Performance has a nice one...
I ran it myself last fall...
860-388-6000 ask for Pat...

I am looking at the 35ZR as my next boat. I want to go with 525's and the 94 mph top end!

AMG ETR 05-20-2009 07:21 PM

Thanks for the responses guys!!

The one at Ocean is nice but pretty high on price (and I am not sure on hours). Was going to buy the 35ZR with 525's that fastboats had (Asking $129K) but he sold it so I am on the hunt... Either his price was cheap or everyone else is nuts with their pricing on these things (according to NADA he was right on...)!!

I think so too... Its amazing in these tough times that these guys are still trying to get 30-40K over book value on these boats....

I just purchased a 2006 35 ZR w/ 525's /48 hrs/ AC/Generator/and electric bolster seats. There are deals to be had. I have seen the same model online for alot more. Really like another on OSO for 129k , also a 38 ZR with staggered for 159k.

Anyone taken a look at the 2006 35ZR in Baton Rouge w496's, A/C and gen? It's been catching my eye but I am not exactly around the corner. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o23987-en.html

There just seem to be a $hitload of 35 / 38ZR's on the market. Some leftovers from 07 and 08 with barely any hours.

It was previously asked but I don't think anyone addressed it: Is there anything problematic that a potential buyer needs to specifically look for?

I can't do it this summer, but this will likely be my purchase over the winter.

I just purchased a 35 zr. The 525's are the way to go. Great boat either way

Could probably get a good deal on the one on Baton Rouge. Owner has had a 38 for a few months now and I would think is tired of being a two boat owner. Can't really offer an opinion on it since I haven't looked at it up close since it was new.

xconn92 06-04-2009 07:14 PM

Oh crap, Baton Rouge was the last place I wanted to visit this summer. Might be worth a flight.

mpdoud 06-09-2009 08:52 PM

I did buy a boat that was from Az. Sorry. You missed a great one.

Congrats on your new boat.. You will love it

Donzi Andy 06-15-2009 05:32 PM

Thanks to everyone. What an awesome boat. To those that wait, good things will happen. If it wasn't for the 27ZR taking so long, I probably would have never had the chance to jump on this opportunity. :evilb:

Congrats! That is a great looking boat. More pics please.

And I'd say you'll be happy you ended up in this over the 27.:drink:

Oh, and you need to update "your" thread on the 27 with the outcome if you haven't yet.
