38??

After having Fountains since 95 I'm considering switching to a Donzi.

My last 4 Fountains were a 42 then a 35 then a 47 and then another 47 and I'm ready to downsize to a 38 and I'm undecided on Fountain or Donzi to tell the truth.

Anyone on here had experiance with both brands in a 38. Most likely will go with a 700 package to get the speed not quite ready to go slow although that's prob the next step.

Big water isn't a thing we have to worry about around here all freshwater rivers and lakes.

I have owned both and there is no comparison. The 38' Donzi is much bigger, handles rough water much better, and though not as fast, it is fast enough.

Ive been on several friends Fountains and almost ordered a 35but never owned one, but absolutely love my 38 ZR, cant imagine a much better boat at the price range you can get them for now.
Pros-Handles rough water well, construction seems very good, runs 88-92 with 525's, staggered engines, variety of engines available, strong midrange

Cons- little tough and slow to plane, dash access is pretty tough, cant think of anything else

I had a 38ZR, absolutely great boat. You will love it, very high quality.

A 38zr is actually 39' long. It has a longer running surface than a 42 Fountain. It is a much better riding boat and though it may be a couple mph slower on the top end in dead flat water, I would take a 38zr over a 42 fountain with equal power in real world offshore racing hands down!
