Livorsi GPS antenna on 08 38 ZR
 

Hi all,
Our boat is here and the Livorsi speedo doesn't work.
I can't find the antenna for it. Does anyone know where it is on the boat?

Mine is behind the dash panel. Had to change it once, battery went dead. Does your speedo get stuck at " 9 o'clock" on the guage?

Ck the flimsy wires behind the speedo gauge, mine were cracked when new. Ordered a new wire harness and replaced. Also stuck at 9 o'clock.

bad antenna- million posts on it, do a search for a way to hook up your GPS to the speedo

thanks for the tips. FYI for the life of me I cannot find the sender. It must be under the dash. Now to find out how to get in there. I assume through the bathroom...

The needle sits on 0 mph and flickers occasionally to 30 mph.

The lowrance is all we have to measure speed. Its working fine. I just need a map of Melbourne for it. Its programmed for North Eastern USA...

Your GPS antenna is behind the grab rail going into your cabin, and it has a dead battery. Do not fool with it. Instead, cut the Livorsi antenna wire that sends signal to your Livorsi gauge about 10" from the Livorsi gauge. Then locate your Lowrance speed output wire about 12" down the Lowrance harness (it is a wrie that goes 12" down the harness, and just stops - not connected to anything) and connect it to your Livorsi gauge which was previously getting signal from the Livorsi antennna. It will cost you nothing, and you'll never need a battery. Call Livorsi and Lowrance if you need more details. You will need to switch some program items in your Lowrance when you're done, - sounds complicated, but it is way-easy. Takes about 30 minutes total.

I had about 5 gps gauges that were faulty !!!

i had 3 sets being replaced on one boat which were monster gauges, and two which were the standard size gauges....

the monster gauges simply never worked they either remain on 0mph or else get stuck @ 9'o'clock.....they do all the movements and acquired satellites...

the standard speedometer worked for a month or two but then started acting really crazy.....it was reading actual speed but the needle never stayed stable...for instance if im running @ 40mph, the needle kept moving to 60mph for 2secs, then it moves to 80mph for another 2-3secs...goes back to actual speed for a couple of secs...and goes on and on and on.....

All that i can say is that Livorsi have replaced gauges @ no cost!! their service is really good and unbeatable!! double thumbs up for them !!! even though the gauges may get a bit crazy their service is excellent........

Hey DonZ - I'd like one of those defective gauges so I can hit the recall and tell my buddy's my boat went 90!! :evilb:

hey, does anyone know whether you access the battery by removing the grab rail? I undid the 6 screws but the panel holding the rail is well and truely glued in place. Should I peel the panel away or is there a better way to get at it?
