I have been in this position where the motor didnt quit working, but the shaft unthreaded intself from the motor. You will be flexing your biceps in order to do this, but get on your knees on the back seat and work your fingers under the hatch, then lift. the collar on the hatch slides over the top of the shaft and can be lifted from the top of the shaft. No need to panic here, it works. This is no task for 'captain limp wrist' here, that hatch is heavy, but can be done.
