Nice boat man, the ZXO is one of my favorite models.. Some Stainless Marine exhaust to lighten up the stern a bit and you'll be a happy camper!

I often hear of horror stories of stainless exhaust leaking, etc.. Any word on all that?

The only real problem I've had with mine is the bilge setup. The forward bilge is not connected to the rear so the water in the bow, coolers, and sink must be pumped out.

If you don't keep it inside a battery charger is a must. It seemed like Donzi got smart by 2007 because all of the 2007+ ZXO's I have seen have the battery charger installed.

Stainless headers have a rep, not the exhaust from Stainless Marine. We've sent a few sets to ZX owners, they love em.

Whats the cost per set for the 6.2? Any idea?

I think a rough guesstimate puts each set (discounted) at $2k. The odds and ends add up for us. The risers are taller than standard, plus the brackets needed.

So I just called and got prices and you were pretty spot on....
$1900 for setup, but if you need the brackets then its $2199. She also told me that the manifolds are aluminum and the risers are stainless. I think I am going to stick with the stock ones for now. Thanks for looking out........

That sounds like MSRP. so it's actually 2199 + another 300-ish for the 6 inch taller riser.

From a vendor you can probably get them for about 2k.

EMI makes an all aluminum set for less. so does GLM and a few other companies. the killer for us is the taller riser... they are a PITA to find.

Dont forget the weight savings is one of the biggest benefits

2006 28 ZX here and I love it. (same hull as the ZXO) I have had 13 boats and this is probably the best riding and handling hull of all of them. We live on a lake and use it every weekend from April thru Oct. Going on my 3rd summer and cant wait to get back in it. The only thing I would suggest is full hydraulic steering. (if you don't already have it.) Mine had hydraulic assist with latham rams and I converted it to full last winter. Best investment I have made. But you don't need to do that right away. Just enjoy your new ride this summer!!!!
