beak boat == Fountain. The bow sticks out like the beak of a bird.

Do we need to bring this up every year. Sold for $200K when Donzi was liquidating inventory to try and stay afloat.

the person that sold it told me face to face

There is more than one red comp and they get mixed up.

Regardless... Let's say they sold it for 100k. hell, Donzi gave it away for free to the first person that walked in. That was then and this is now. Prices are holding and the people that actually own boats aren't giving them away. The economy forced some out, forced Donzi's liquidation, and forced many repo sales.

There haven't been many boats built since 2008. If you own a 2008 it's pretty much as new as it gets.... all the deals found their way to good homes. Because they found homes with people with stable incomes / etc. they will generally be sold to buy a different boat. Look at new boat prices and I can tell you I'm not giving my boat away at your pricing because I would end up replacing it with something @ triple the price because there is nothing newer.

In short the market has turned from turn and burn to buy/sell at a fair price.

Well that person is either a effing liar or a effing scammer because I know for a fact that the boat was NEVER ADVERTISED for anything even remotely approaching $150K. If it had been myself and 100 other people would have bought it in a second. In fact, Pier 57 was asking around $$230K for the boat when they suddenly dropped it down to like $195k in their ads and it sold like the next day. In fact, the guy who wound up buying the Blue 525 boat thought he had bought it for the advertised price near $200K only to have Pier 57 call him back the next day and tell him that the deal was off because someone came along and paid more.

Now if your source is a slimy crook who managed to con the bank and screw over customers who were willing to pay more so be it, but the real market value of that boat never approached $150k.

I follow them religiously and the only ones in the $100k range were very rough ZRC ex-race boats. I'm thinking some of the rough 38 525 ZRs are approaching low $100's now. Merc 700' ZRs are still going to be a while before under $125-150k. Good luck in your shopping.

Red ZRC did sell well south of $200k. True Story. Cash and quick was the icing.

That being said, just like housing, "deals" are long gone. Fair pricing and value have returned. The '06ish ZR stand up boats are into the low 100's in REAL value. Some are good values, some are rough.

Just do your homework.
