33zx prop?? plz
Hi
I have donzi 33zx 2004 525x2 racing 30 bravo 1 propeller Top speed 78mph I*read*E-site*there are boats*bigger than*the*size*of*my*boat,such*as*engine*type*and*s trength*and*speed*more*and*Ithink*due*to*the*size* of*the*propeller What*size*suitable for*myboat*propeller |
i have the 500efi motors and am running 28 4 blades and last year i got 82 out of it on gps. so u should be faster then me alittle bit. u might be over proped. i was thinking about going up to 30's and was told that i would be alittle better out the hole and a little better cruse speed but might lose topend. if u r looking to up your top end mabe try some 28's and u might gain some then if u still want more have them labed. that is my next step when i have the extra cash.

Mach, I also am running 28 4 blades with 500 efi on my 33zx. I'd love to see 82! I'll know next weekend

i wont be able to hammer on it this year until the rebuilds r broken in.

Did the motor lock up from lifter breaking? What caused the prop shaft splines to twist?
|
motor ran fine didnt even hear a tick or nock for the shaft it was ether hit something under water or a oops on reentry
|
well as good as it could on 7 with the #3 down

The Bravo was crap for me, but I was running a labbed 32". Best I've seen is 88 on GPS with stock setup and running a Hydromotive P5 30". Boat would normally run around 86 with stock setup, but 88 with very little fuel and some chop. Recently bought a set of Maximus 30", with a little larger diameter than the P5. The P5 is a really nice overall prop for the 33ZX, comes up on plane nice and easy, good cruise speed and good top speed. The Maximus is a little tougher to get up on plane, but cruises about 3-5 mph faster and will probably have a better top end, but I'm having an issue with the too much stern lift (it appears) which makes the bow start to rise and fall rapidly once in the upper 80's. I will have BBlades lab my Maximus props to help eliminate this.
In my experience this big boat loves a 5 blade. It appears the trick with speed on this boat is getting the right balance of transom lift and prop bite. To note, my boat is a ZX Daytona with 575sci's and ITS. |
The note: changes everything. 500 efi heavy hull 33zx and runs 76 topped out. Can't complain but still room to improve. I'll try the 5 blade should opportunity arise.
