What's up with DonziDirect.com?

I ordered a 18" DONZI decal for my truck window back on 12/26 and when I sign back in to Donzidirect it still says processing. Back in September I order a door latch from the too and it took almost a month to get.

I usually go through vinylapproach when ordering decals but they've been instructed by some high price firm in FL not to sell Donzi or Fountain Decals. They were fast and cheap. Anyone have anyone else they use for decals.

Looks like their Facebook was active on Jan 9th. I have dealt with them (Josh) in the past, I'm not sure he is still involved with the company.

Their decals are made to order, perhaps a phone call would answer your question..

Find an independent graphics shop and don't tell anyone where you got the decal from. I've had great customer service from DD but it only takes one day to make a custom decal.

Hi Matthew, you ordered your decal the day after Christmas, and as we posted on our website, we were closed until January 5th. On January 5th, we processed your order, and sent you the following note, which is copied directly from your order comment history here:

"Jan 5, 2015 2:25:10 PM| Invoice #100001262 comment added |Customer Notified
Hi Matthew, Thank you for shopping with DonziDirect.Com! The decal you ordered is made to order and typically ships within 7-10 business days. At time of shipment you will receive an email containing the shipping and tracking information for your item."

Your decal arrived from the shop on Friday, and will be shipping today (the 10th business day from time of order processing). You will be notified with tracking information once it's on the way.

I see here that you sent us an email last night (Sunday night) at 6:50 PM EST, and our office isn't open on weekends. According to our records, this was your first attempt to contact us.

Hope this clears everything up.

Don't remember seeing anything about being closed till 5th of January, that may have been my fault. But if you guys don't even make or have the decal why wouldn't of my email or order go directly to the company that does make them. It's not a big deal either way probably won't even be able to put it on till it gets warmer out but I felt like I was put on the back burner, not even my confirmation email stated that "DonziDirect.com" is on vacation till January 5th.

Like stated on OP I waited way to long for the cabin door latch to arrive at my house, did you have to order that too?

s022mag 01-19-2015 10:22 AM

For the recorded if you processed my order on the 5th today would be the 11th business day, if you celebrate MLK day then it would be tomorrow. Either way it should of been out last week easy.

Your right a phone call probably would of taken care of it but I've ordered plenty of stuff online and never had to ask where it is. Never heard of a website going on vacation.

I did have a shop do it and word must have got out, but your right it's a 18" DONZI decal, I would thought they would of just been laying around.

s022mag 01-19-2015 12:21 PM

They must have ordered a few extras to have on hand, Details says in stock, usually ships in 3-5 business days

Sounds like they took care of you. Just have to remember sometimes they aren't Amazon.com with next day prime shipping :)

The tracking number works. However, since yesterday was MLK day, USPS wasn't running. Sometimes it takes a while for tracking numbers to become active. The package is en route as indicated by the tracking number.

Pull your truck into your garage, borrow your wifes hair dryer, clean and warm up the glass for a couple of minutes, then apply your decal. I just did mine last week on my new tow vehicle. works like a champ!

In an earlier post I was not bashing DonziDirect. My decal comment was out of line though. My decal was custom and was larger than what DD offered. They warranteed a seat bottom for me that had some issues after 3 seasons and I did not expect that. That is great customer service.

Thanks Carl.

In case anyone is wondering, we make custom decals every week. We have the largest selection of original Donzi logo art that there is, going all the way back to 1964, and can produce them in any size, color, or finish. By royalty agreement the Donzi factory gets a cut of the proceeds on every decal we sell, so of course they frown on private shops that counterfeit their logos. We aren't here to judge, but we use the original factory supplier for all of our decals and stand behind our quality.

We are a small business serving a specialty market, and due to limited demand many of our items are made to order. While we don't advertise ourselves as an overnight solution, we do the best we can.

Thank you to our customers for their support!

I can attest to the work!

DonziDirect made this awesome hatch decal for me and it is holding up great!

Josh and Sunny are great people!

This thread makes no sense. Josh offers a great service at a reasonable price. I've ordered many times without issue, and Josh always gets right back to you, if you have any questions.

You went on bash mode without giving him a fair chance to respond.

I've even had Josh help me mimic the ZR door design on my 26zx, and also change decal colors to custom match my truck & boat.

Give the guy a break. Jeez.

For the record I didn't bash anyone, I just wanted to know if anyone knew what was going on. They said they were on vacation till Jan 5th, I don't remember seeing it listed on there website then again I wasn't looking either. I was just kind of annoyed when it was taking this long after I ordered a door latch back in the fall that took just as long. Should I have called and seen what was taken so long before I wrote a post on OSO? Sure, but must of the time everyone here is helpful. It's just a little hard for me to understand how a decal takes 7 to 10 days to process when under the description on its web pages says usually ships within 3 to 5. They guy I have ordered all my other decals from is probably a lot smaller company with much more decals to print then just Donzi. I will give Sunny a big Thank you for shipping 2 day priority, it wasn't necessary but I do appreciate it.

This won't stop me from ordering from Donzidirect in the future, just was upset about the lack of communication from there customer service, which was prompt to reply after I made contact via email and OSO.

BTW, the decal looks real good can't wait to put it on my new tow rig, special thank for the koozie too :)

Scott B 01-25-2015 07:07 AM

Yes, you should have called first. You ordered a custom made item from a small business during the holiday season. You missed the notation on their website that they were closed. A call would have answered your question, and they have an 800 number so the call would be free!

Thanks for the input, I'll call for now on.

I may be able to shed a small ray of light onto this. I am a vendor for many new boat manufacturers, I also do some work for Donzi Direct. Last week we had a simple grab rail come in for refinish from Sunny, most vendors would have sent it because the finish wasn't serious, they however wanted to make sure the product was top notch. I always say a higher quality end product always removes any pain from a delivery wait, a crappy product is upsetting for a long long time. Sometime good stuff takes time.
