350MAG Spark Plugs and Wires

Plan on doing routine maintenance on a stock 350MAG.. Was wondering what spark plug and wire combo guys are running? Wanted to use MSD wires as they have always had a solid product but they do not have a specific Mercruiser application, or atleast I do not think so.. What wires are you guys using?

What year and MPI or carb engine. Stock app your wasting money for the MSD wire sets especially matching up to your correct lengths.

See now a 2002 and I take it your engine is 350 MPI MAG - 300 hp supported by ECM 555.

If this a 2002 MPI, Mercruiser calls it a HVS = High Voltage switch in which is the distributor and cap. I would go with a Merc HVS cap and if you can still find a correct new set of Mallory Marine spark plug wire sets for your app, I would buy them.

Mallory Marine is no longer as Sierra bought them out to get rid of the competition. Mallory marine did have some good marine products especially stock ignition components. I hated to see them go.

Thanks for the input. Been searching recently to see if there is anything out there and it seems like they might be tough to come across..

Call Mallory / Accel group to see what they recommend. I would use the OEM cap and rotor and make sure it is not one that has been sitting on the shelf for a while.. These flat caps had huge problems right out of the box with crossfiring 5 & 7. the engines ran like crap even after new cap and rotor was installed. The problem has been fixed for over a year now but I still run across a bad one here and there form old stock that was installed.

You are in the TGS area. I grew up there but, gone now for over 30 years ago.
