Default Top Speed 38Zx

hi all! new to the forum! we are currently "prospecting" a 02 38zx with 600's in it (not sure if they are 600sci, or other motors tuned up) (will find out this week) but with 1200hp what speeds should we expect from this boat?? high 70's-low80s about right ?? its a non daytona and has some sort of 4 blade props on it with xr drives! thanks in advance !

I would think with 600's u might see high 70s. My 33 with 500's four blades seen best of 83 only once but see upper 70's all day any day.grate boats but heavy boats but one thing I can say in there size range you will not find a bigger more roomy cabin. If that is important to you as it was us you r on the right track.

I would think a 38x (non daytona), you're mid 70's no prob with a full boat, might reach 80 on a good day.

I have a 2004 38ZX Daytona twin 525s with Whipple Chargers (~1600hp) XR ITS drive Magnum 5 blade 32 pitch prop. 3/4 tank full, it runs 86 mph at 5000 rpm. I think I can reduce the pitch to rev 5800 rpm for more mph. Heavy but solid stable ride!

86 is slow for that power. My 01' daytona with innovation 600's turned labbbed Bravo1's 34p and ran 84-86 consistently. Something isn't right with your setup if you're seeing the same with the power you're indicating.
