Does anyone know the story on this boat or been to look at it? At that price my Dad was curious he tried to buy a 26ZX from Shogren this summer but could not reach a deal and ended up buying a 25' Outlaw which now has a completely new engine but he is stuck on Donzi. I personally don't want him in a supercharged boat for multiple reason but promised I would make the inquiry.

I had the same color scheme boat. Mine was 502mpi with a low pressure boost. A 502mpi stock is 415hp, mine with the boost took it to 600hp. I suspect the performance is similar as far as horsepower with a 496 and a super charger. The boat is rock solid at speed. However I will be the first one to suggest taking the Tres Martin school. The boat design is excellent. But like many other performance boats you have to know when you can zig and zag and when you can't. Outdrive position, speed, tab settings all play a role on when you can turn. Bottom line.....great boat!!

Its a ZX so it should ride smooth and comfy. I would keep in mind that its a 17yr old boat - with an upgraded engine/stereo and rebuilt drive. All of those items would indicate previous owner user type and should give you an idea of future areas of repair/maintenance going forward. I would suggest getting an hours of use report on the engine and go from there. If it spent 70+% of its life living at max RPM.....then make your offer accordingly.

Personally I like ZX boats A LOT and would say it all comes down to what your dad wants to do with it and how it was treated previously.
