99 Donzi 22ZBR 383
I have a 99 Donzi Z22Br with the step hull. Right now the boat is doing 48 GPS speed with a 350 Mag MPI 300 hp motor. What type of speed will this hull handle ?
What type of speed increase do you think it will have with a 475hp Stroker ?

I had a 2001 with step hull and 454magHO/B1 outdrive. The boat was upgraded lightly with Stainless Marine manifolds/exhaust, Intake polish job/cold air and ECM flash. With a half tank of fuel and two people....70-72mph on GPS. That was all you would want....it chine walked like crazy and without hydraulic steering was an accident waiting to happen. These 22zx boats with the 454mag/502mpi engines are fast.. If you are planning on putting anything more than 400hp to the drive - you better consider upgrading that along with the steering. YMMV
PS: These boats will "spin out" and have a history of it occurring. Sharp turns or aggressive driving at high speed will make this a likely occurrence.
