Zr Hatch Seals
 

I realize there are a few threads already on hatches leaking and what measures folks took to stop water intrusion. I am putting this thread out for RESOURCES and ultimately a repository of information with an actual product solution for future owners.

So.... What product is used for the hatch seals on a 35zror 38Zr? This is the forward deck salon hatches. It appears to be a black EPDM or foam rubber bulb seal with a T-slot anchor into the poly hatch material.

I have scoured the internet...spoken with Iconic Marine parts department and have quite a few similar looking materials inbound to trial. It would be nice if somebody actually has a product resource or part number from a vendor?

Perfect! That is one of the products I have inbound. Its the basic BULB SEAL with T-Slot mount.

I received 6 other samples today and although they fit...none of them "squish out" significantly enough ensure a leak free seal in my eyes. On another note spraying down my old seals with vinyl protector and leaving them in sun inflated them to nearly new condition..but significant cracks exist. So fresh seals are installed and garden hose test showed no leakage.

Did you end up using the seals from Boat Outfitters?

Yes, this is what is being used. Rained past two days no water issues of any kind.

Another thought might be to leave the hatches cracked open during the winter months if you have that option. It would definitely help from having the rubber seals compress and stay that way.
