I knew you think I'm Antti, but I'm his friend and doing a lot research about the Donzi. Hope we get it running perfectly soon.

In this chart only possibly fault is over heating. But they check and change only idle air control valve, but we told to that might be faulty thermostat and water temperature go high with full speed. The meter shows about 120-130 about temperature while we drive. If I remember correctly. |

If over heating is the problem pull the end caps on the heat exchanger on the front/top of the engine. The rubber deform and blocks the flow.

Hello folks, Greeting from Thailand.
We have some issues with the boat and any help are appreciate. And sorry about my bad English skills but I try. So the boat have issue when start it give alarm signal (twice) about every 5mins. 40knots we can drive with no problems (but have alarm). With full speed engine will stall after couple of minutes and alarm start continuously beeb until for 1-2 minutes when boat stays still and idle. After waiting couple of minutes we can start driving again for 40knots and only alarm beeb every 5min (might be shorter time than 5min) We had maintenance and Mercury service change Idle Air Control Valve IAC which is in the back of the engine (It get shortage and burned little bit) But they're saying ECM/PCM/ECU is broken (I'm not sure which one they meant because this is Thailand. Any idea whats wrong in our boat? Bottom of the engine get under water because our staff didn't take care the boat, we already change start motor for the Donzi. I don't know how high the water level really was, but at least it ruined the start motor. Thank you :sorry: I just wanna let you know I solve some problems of the overheating and alarm. Well that was very simple, no one (even Mercury service) didn't drive or test the Donzi with motor cover up position, so accidentally I found hose (probably intake water) which was loose. So I put the hose back and new clip and that's it, over heating was over, now 160 degrees and not over, no alarm. Only alarm is now 1 beep in a 2 minutes (maybe need to reset somehow?) I believe the problem was always that intake hose, it was leaking before and didn't get enough cooling water or not enough pressure in the system. Funny part was that the pilge pump was on all the time and the bolt was missing from the hole where you empty the water under motor, so it wasn't never collecting the water on the bottom of the floor so no one knew the problem LOL And I found loose hose by accident when I drop tool under the engine and I was reaching it beside the motor and I saw the pipe and hose was separated. Just the clip was rusted and broken on the bottom of the floor under garbage. So that's done, now I need to figure out how to reset 2min alarm, any idea? |
Good to read you got the overheating sorted out.
Make sure you clean around the leaking hose very carefully. That would have leaked salt water and anything in the engine room that touches salt water will rust. Rule number one in salt is wash, clean, rinse then do it all again! 👍 Sorry I can’t help with the other alarm. Cheers, Jon. |
