Its a solid boat with no known issues or complaints. Always get lots of compliments and not "dated looking" like most boats of the era. 496 package cruise at 65-70mph with top at 81mph (I don't care whatever people say to the otherwise - props, spacers, tail wind, wife with big tits or little tits you are not getting more than 81mph out of the boat comfortably.) The 496's are nice because they are stupid proof (sensors) and with a code reader you can basically maintain the boat yourself. Simple winterizing and basic maintenance should give you problem free ownership for many years to come. Sips fuel if your not laying on the sticks and 89 octane is a major savings compared to 93+. The twin step hull is actually efficient compared to similar sized boats and we tend to jump on plane faster and glide longer when rolling down for reduced speed areas.
If your set on a 35 foot boat its a solid choice. |
