Let me throw this out there, in a 28 you only gain 17" inches, none in cockpit or water, it is identical to a 26ZX.
You do loose speed with a single, twins is faster and there is a slight ride difference between twins and the single BBC, I have riden both.
Good luck on the hunt, something will come your way, in fact there is a 1999 28ZX for sale in our club you could probably get for mid 50's. He is an navy officer transferring to Hawaii in a few months.
It has the Jacksonville jag emblin on the Donzi, custom done by Donzi.

WOW!!! that,s different, I guess you wouldn,t see yourself coming and going in that boat what color is that Black? I keep seeing allot of 28,s with twin small blocks , I think I would have to buy one real right to make it worth while dealing with twins and besides I trailer everywhere and don,t know how it would be to tow. What do you think is a better ride twins in a 28 or single in a 26??

BryanTuvell 12-02-2002 06:29 PM

It is a dark green. Being a 99 they are true weights as advertised, depending on trailer you would be pulling a bit over 7000 pounds with gas.
They both ride nice, a little tab will keep the twin boat nose down in really bad stuff.
I will get ya a price tomorrow.

Thanks Bryan, By the way do you post on the classic Donzi site?
We have been looking at the 26zx,s since 2000 but I can,t sit up in the cabin and we have been a little wary of the Quality of the new Donzi,s I found a 2000 26 on a trailer 150hours 502 with std graphics for 45K any help you can give us will be great, we boat mostley on Lake George in NY and I think I may like to have a good windscreen to get behind on those cold nights. What Donzi do you have??/

BryanTuvell 12-03-2002 04:01 AM

We have a 2001 26ZX, yes I post on Donzi net, the boat you refer to I believe WAS in Port Clinton Ohio, it sold to a board member.
This is my 2nd ZX boat and we love it.
BUT, it is not a fast boat for a lake, 65 tops.
She has a huge cuddy and deep cockpit, let me know if you have any other questions.
