496 serial number location
 

The cowling on top of the engine that has a decal, does not have any of the serial numbers on it. Is there any other place to find the engine serial number on a 2005 496 HO. Thank you.

There should be a metal tag towards the back of the block by where the bell housing bolts on, starboard side. Also, could be a decal on the heat exchanger, starboard side.
