Looking at purchasing a ‘70 St Tropez

As the title states… there’s a 1970 St Tropez that’s been completely redone near me and I’m wondering what I should be looking out for? The owner says he replaced the gas tank, reinforced the stringers by wrapping them in aluminum and then attaching aluminum plates vertically to the floor which is also aluminum. The motor is a 6 yr old 351 and the outdrive appears to be original. I didn’t see any stress cracks on the hull and supposedly all the gauges work, in fact I’ve been told that everything is in working order with no issues.

The owner added a Stryker T-top and it looks great. A heavy duty dual axel trailer is included. I’m not sure where this boat should be pricing wise?!? I should add that as far as he knows, the boat has never seen salt water. She seems really clean but has some dock rash and a few fiberglass repairs.

This is my first post and can’t add any photos :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Steven

So a 70 feet long boat
in a twin axles trailer?

or the model 70 does not represent the lenght?

I read it as a 1970 with a 351 ford in it sitting on a twin screw trailer

Cool hot rod, I like inboard CC's wow thats a tight fit on the engine, are the spark plugs above or below the deck ?

Prosa 10-17-2024 05:18 PM

The plugs are above the floor as is most of the engine for routine maintenance.
