22 Zx

Hey guys, looking for a little info here. I am about to upgrade from my Glastron run about and move into somthing a little bigger. I have been looking at several diffrent types of boats and really like the 22 ZX. I have a couple of questions... I noticed there is a cuddy door, is the door pretty hard to get in and out of? Also, what kind of speed can be expected from a 7.4 or a mag? Does the step in the hull cause the boat to ride rough?

HotSpare 12-30-2003 12:36 PM

I,ve driven a few 22's ........ They're great riding boats, with or without the step ........ Smooth for their size .... Donzi used different engine config's for that boat through the years .... New one's are running small blocks with bravo 1's ..... Past years have run B/B Chev 454 & 502's ..... Speeds have varied accordingly ..... I know some guy's on the Donzi Board's that are running mid 80's with there set-up's ........

Thanks for the info!! Do you know what the actual length of that boat is?

HotSpare 01-02-2004 12:37 PM

According to Donzi, the 22zx has an LOA of 22'3" ...... Very nice Boat .......

Very Nice boat, I'was going to buy it, then I opted for 26 ZX, since a great use on the Sea...

I heard it runs well rough waters for its lenght, with 377 it should reach 65-67 mph...

I heard too its hull is pretty aggressive, very exciting but difficult at high speeds...!!

Ciao FEDE

I had a 1999 22ZX with the 7.4 that I loved, it was a great riding boat for the size. As you have probably guessed it was not the fastest for its size and power but when it got rough is when it proved itself. The ride and quality of it is what made me opt to stay with Donzi and I now have the 26ZX. Get it and you won't be sorry.

I think what John S. meant to say is that it is a single with a 6.2 and Bravo. We took the boat in trade and it is in great shape. It's a one owner boat. If you would like more info please call me.

How much do the 22ZX donzi's go for?

JWilmoth 02-23-2004 10:57 AM

Chuck,
The price can vary a great deal depending on what options you want. For example some of the graphic packages can add over 15% to the base price of the boat. If you would like more specific's please call or e-mail me. If you are interested in my trade I can give more info on that also.

Friend has a super clean, 25' Powerplay with a 502 Blower motor that might fit your bill.

I have a Donzi 18' Classic for sale

Both boats are in the Annapolis area

Email me if you desire more info

Does your friend still have the 22zx donzi? Is it for sale?

1999 Donzi 22zx

Does anybody know if the 1999 Donzi 22zx came with a half plexi windscreen? If not, what year did these start production?

Shanghied Again 05-15-2007 10:39 AM

The 22 ZX had the fiberglass wrap for 1997 to 1999 some 99s did have the windscreen at the end but 2000 was the first to see the windscreen

Ok, this is my first post on this website. I am looking into getting a 22-24 foort powerboat. I have narrowed it down to these options: Powerquest 237 Stryker, Donzi 22ZX, Caravelle 232 SC Interceptor, and a Stingray 230SX. I am thinking the best engine for me just moving up to a boat this size is the 350mag-300hp. Any advice and knowledge on these lines and this engine is appreciated. I wasnt to buy used and am looking at spending no more than 30k. Thanks.
