1989 Black Widow project

Anyone know this boat?

I was considering putting in a bid...

Next to the orange, the worst part I gather is that it came with OMC King Cobra's and ford engines.

Are ford marine engines really that bad? They are 460's which are very common so there should be plenty of after market performance parts.

Average retail for this boat appear to be way lower than any of it's peers... why is that?

If the OMC's are operational would you use them until they die or go straight for the merc conversion?

What about the blistering? $$ to fix? sign of more trouble to come?

Thanks for the help!

How much will the owner pay you to take it?

.........in the late eighties it was thought that staggered seats would balance the boat better and make it go at least 10 mph faster................., especially if you reduced weight by eliminating the cabin door and engine hatch.........ultimately it was discovered that the increased speed led to blistering the gel on the hull running surface.........................

don't take less than $5k for buying the boat.........

just kiddin, wanted to reach 400 posts

Mine will do 70's for me.

I have K cobras they are no trouble.

The bearings in them are huge.

Dunno about the Fords though.
