Donzi has done an amazing job retooling over the past 5 years!! This is the 38ZR fresh out of the factory that we will have at Pier 57 in a couple of weeks. (anybody recognize the driver in the first pic?) Shoot me an email if any of you guys want a little more information on the boat.

That's a nice looking boat. Do you have any performance data on it?

Re: Miami Boat Show

The boat ran 94 MPH with a 33 pitch 5 Blade Herring. It was still tapping the revlimiter with 1" spacers. The plan is to drop to a 32 6 Blade Herring and change the spacer to 1/2". I was in the boat at 90MPH with Mark Smith from Donzi. The hull reenters the water like a razor blade. It flys perfectly level and corners sharp enough to scare veterans. Bob Teague called it "The Lincoln Town Car edition of a Raceboat"

What engines did the boat have in it?

Good to talk to you marginmn! Like I said...the boat has staggered 525's. Here are a few more teasers.

A better shot of Bob Teague. What a thrill it was to hear his opinions of the boat after 2 runs in 6 footers.

LMAO!!! FRANKIE not Friddie. Probably the southern accent that threw you!!!!

This is the 38ZR that was released at the show. Lacks the eye appeal of the Pier 57 boat but the 600's looked mean!! This boat is heavier than our boat but still is a 95 MPH boat.

Re: Miami Boat Show

Sorry Frankie. I agree with you Frankie, I like the lighter bench seat much better. Your boat would have to be close to 100 with those 600's. I like your paint a lot better too.

Absolutely amazing. Donzi has really done a good job on that boat. I can't believe the numbers they are getting on 525's  :D
Now I'm curious to know the painful part.............................................. How Much??

Re: Miami Boat Show

FRANKIE told me that one lists for around $310K but can be bought for less, - the mucho expensive paint job isn't standard of course. He also said the bolsters cost 400 lbs of weight, speed, and more money vs the bench seat. I think that is Frankie's personal boat. What a beauty.

Re: Miami Boat Show

I heard the Donzi guys saying the Merc 600's would push the 38' to 105 when dialed in... If true, that might make me forget about my Fountain.
