Put it this way, it sounds extremely competitive ..right out of the box!:cool-smiley-027:

sugarstick 03-25-2008 06:53 PM

new numbers

With out giving any numbers they have hit the limiters with both sets of props.
Not at liberty to say but very impressive on first outing and 3 mph faster on second.
Over 3-4 years the 32 has gained quite a bit of speed thru dialing equipment etc Im certain the 38 will hold the SCL record within a year.
Best of luck to this new team.

Can't wait to see it run next week. :D

We had a good day testing in Miami on Monday. Thanks to JT for all of the time he spent with Guy and myself. The people at TNT have done a beautiful job preparing this boat. We look forward to developing it in the coming season.

Ray.

I am absulutely certain that all of the only moderately competative Cat Light Teams (especially Stancomb, Teague, Whittier, Chastelet etc), who have 10 years plus experience racing CATS are simply going to pack up and go home... why bother right? I hear Peter at Skater is going to stop building Race Boats, he is too scared.

My brand of Humor Guys - don't send letter bombs.

Seriously, a very nice Boat and I am sure that Ray and Guy will put in their best efforts in an incredibly competative class.

we're not talking about the teams, were talking about the boat. The point is it's putting out some nice #'s right out of the box. Nothing wrong with a little competition right?:evilb:

stainless 04-05-2008 11:07 AM

You forgot motley crew

I was talking about both - boat won't even start without the right people in it.

I agree - competiton is good.

How did the new mods work ryan? in the pics it looked like you were in front for a bit ?

Ryan Beckley 04-07-2008 08:22 PM

Gary beat us by 61 seconds. He and Paul will be tough to beat at the races they make it to. I broke a blade of the prop I wanted to run and ended up down a size. The had 2.5 MPH on us avg. overall speed over 55 miles. At the start we had a very small lead which they quickly went past.....The mods are RIGHT....the boat now has a great attitude just need some set up time and prop work.

I am sure Guy & Ray will get the big DW worked out too...they raced an UN tested set of props and they weren't right.

Quinlan 04-08-2008 06:41 AM

The DW did look sweet and only about 20 min of test time till they splashed for practice is what I was told by the team. Of course those Skaters were Rockin!!!

SpecialFX 04-08-2008 10:38 AM

Well we made it to Biloxi, managed a podium finish and prize money too. Thanks to all the OSS race teams and OSS staff for welcoming us.

Since we got the new 38 in our hands last week we figured we would be a little off the pace at Biloxi.

Based on the performance of the other CL boats we started with 1:57 drives, but we've been on the engine limiters from day 1, even dropping the drives another 1/2 inch at Biloxi did not help. Rolling the dice with an untested set of props... well....don't ay it!

Keeping this boat off the engine limiters is tougher than you think especially when it starts at 111 mph, just when the hull starts to fly. This boat is fast..... fast....!!

We've decided we should miss Havasu and go to X site instead, looking for 1:5 drives already.

Congrats to Peppers on the win, but watch out here we come...and don't go running to 850 Class just yet.

stainless 04-08-2008 11:08 AM

Congrats on your podium! Keep us posted as you get that baby dialed in !

pbam22 04-08-2008 01:17 PM

The boat looked great ,cant wait to see it when gets dialed in

cowisl 04-28-2008 10:41 AM

That was quick...

stecz20 04-28-2008 02:24 PM

nice.....

SpecialFX 05-05-2008 04:31 PM

FURY is now an 850 boat and will be re rigged for Sunny Isles. Does anyone need 525s?

stainless 05-05-2008 05:59 PM

How's it run with the bigger power?

any insider info you care to share with the rest of us ?:party-smiley-004:

DPT MOTORSPORTS 05-08-2008 06:43 PM

Any pics of the re-rig????? Curious to see if the 850's will fit under the hatches or not.

Boatlesss 05-11-2008 03:42 PM

The boat looks relatively tall so they should fit under the hatch

Ryan Beckley 05-11-2008 04:51 PM

The boat is at DW's now getting the hatches and bustle "worked" to accomadate the motors and drives properly.

DPT MOTORSPORTS 05-11-2008 08:57 PM

Thanks for the update Ryan.

SpecialFX 05-18-2008 03:12 PM

The 850's don't quite fit under the hatches, so DW added a reverse scoop, to make clearance and also vent engine compartment. TNT will be installing new packages from next week. Will be ready for SIB, but probably only just, and end up doing the Bimini race as test time.

Yes, They are already entered in the Don Aronow Memorial Race to Bimini and back.

Should be interesting to see what Randy Scism is bringing for the same race, suppose to be a new innovation.

850's are in. CMI says June 3 for headers, then tailpipes 1 week...going to be close.

stainless 05-25-2008 08:48 AM

Looking Good !:cool-smiley-027:

dan lawrence 06-23-2008 12:54 PM

Ray and Guy

The boat was really fast looks like you are going to have a podium boat shortly. Running first and second until the roll. That was out of the box with no set-up or seat time. The 850 class has a new team and boat!!

Dan

Sean H 06-23-2008 01:35 PM

the boat is strong, REAL strong...

glassdave 06-23-2008 03:05 PM

That boat looked great out there. She is fast and is definetly gonna be a force to contend with once they get it dialed in. Glad everybody is OK and the boat looked like it faired well to.
