Loan Shark was converted to 300xs's when it was turned into a open top pleasure, there was a thread with the speeds and props somewhere about it.

The DW can run 120 plus with stock 8200 280's how fast do you want to go?

stainless 07-15-2008 09:31 PM

a little birdie told me that a certain 32 dw runs 105-108 on the rev limiters with 300 xs's

dan lawrence 07-16-2008 02:57 PM

300xs

I own the 32 with 300xs. 3 people and 70galllons of fuel 106-108 with 3 blade 34's on the limiters. 109 with 2 passengers

I stretched it to 113 with 30 gallons and just me on the limiters.

I am currently working on larger props but have not spent to much effort ($$$) on it. 33' 4 blades offer amazing acceleration and 105 top end with 4 passengers.

The boat really shines in 3ft seas which is what I like to run over 90 in.

The 300xs is a great motor but it starts retarding the timing at 6150 and shuts down after 6300.

Fuel economy is astronomical.

fuel mileage

dan what kinda of fuel mileage you getting??

dan lawrence 07-16-2008 07:00 PM

I do not know miles per gallon but I can run most of the day on 60 gallons. I recently ran a poker run on only 37 gallons.

If you back off and run 85 the fuel economy really goes up.

Great 100 plus package

skaterdave 07-16-2008 07:20 PM

fuel

i'm getting about 2 miles a gallon with the bblock cruising at 100 with 33pitch props.

GB'S wheels rocked and he was quick to reclaim them!

I have a feeling that your new 4 blades will be the ticket.

Dan,
Thanks for the info on the props. I will have some testing to do but this is a start. How fast is the 32' Spectre running with the 15"x34 bblades and 14.75"X32.
Thanks for the info
Tommy

Dry 4,700lbs

I tried to build some 36 bravos but the boat did not like them. I recently bumped the rev limiters up to 6,550 now and with the 33 4 blades i'm on the limiter at 108 with 70 gallons of fuel and three passengers. Saw 111 by myself. My three blades died so I only have the 4yr old 4 blades that have been repaired many times.

I think the boat can still break 115 again but have yet to see it. I really love the motors and of course my Doug Wright.

I am going to build a set of 5 blades very soon.

Set up may help you break 110.
