what is the widebody 32. what is wider

Cash Bar 07-11-2011 07:43 PM

Tunnel width. It's 6" wider I think. It's the same as the X-Cat version that Michelle Karsenti(?) runs.

Outstanding Pics Nate... Thats a great looking boat!

I saw a vid on the boat recently, was wondering if the exhaust running off the back of the boat, effected the finish on the paint?

thanks man. with the new turbo motors the exhaust still runs out the back, they just had the tailpipes off when i was there. without the tailpipes i couldnt see if it was dry exhaust or not. But if you look closely at the pictures theres a plate of some sort beneath where the exhaust exits. i imagine this is in place to the protect the paint and it was flawless

Does this boat live somewhere in the islands? Cayman maybe? What power was in it before?

Yes, Dale Chriton(?)'s boat. Had big Chiefs before that were SC instead of Turbo.

Thanks Cash. I've seen that video before. That thing is stupid fast!

I imagine its a PITA and expensive to ship the boat back and forth to the islands? I guess when you can afford a 43 DW and the re-powering after only a year or two, it doesn't matter.

Ryan Beckley 07-12-2011 01:59 PM

The 38 lives at Grant's full time. Dale is from Cayman but the boat has never been there. The new 32' is Doug Kelly's new HULK S-class race boat.

This is the 32 X-Cat Doug Wright it has a 114 inch beam with 62 inch tunnel the boat is gorgeous. The one in the picture is an all carbon model that was custom built for a rather tall customer.

Comment:

It is not a dry exhaust in the video. It has a different intake plenum custom made inorder to fit under the hatchs.

Here you go a video of old and some new splashed in enjoy.

KAP

P.S. This boat should be about ready to stretch the motors out. Far and away my favorite pleasure boat.... has AC to keep you cool on those hot days:drink:.

This Purgatory boat is a bad mofo. Does anyone have the pictures of the Fury now? I saw some pictures not so long ago but can't seem to fing them with the new canopy moved back for a better cg and they changed the bussel. It also looks killer.

New carbon fiber deck, lowered, moved the canopy aft. The boat is in Trinidad now. Could be back stateside for Key West.
