News from the Middle East X-CAT Series:

Well Congratulations go out to Omar Daniel and Gary Ballough who took third place in Dubai's X-CAT series sponsored by the WPPA/UIM.

The race was 13 laps with an average speed of 82MPH with the first and second place boats edging them out with a 83MPH avg. lap time.

They ran a new X-CAT Doug Wright and had minimal testing before going up against a field of 17 boats.

I am sure once they get the boat dialed in they will be gunning for a much sought after first place finish. Third is quite and acheivement in a field of the best outboard boats in the world....with little to no test time for the boat.

Once again, Congratulations gentlemen well done.

Mouawad the sponsor is a high end jewelry and watch shop in Geneva, Switzerland.

Boat driver/owner is Omar Daniel and Throttleman is Gary Ballough.

was this the new boat that was tested in KW for the first time? or was this the boat that was already over seas?

This was the boat last year in Key West. The other boat your thinking about is the Lux Media Yachts boat which was the first X-Cat DW.

Is Gary bringing back his yellow boat to the States or did he sell it over there??

The yellow boat is being shipped back here to be sold.

so where is the NEW dw that was in key west, didnt race but was in the pits and tested, how did the turn fins work out?

That is the boat they are running in this series now. 2 3rd place finishes. They took the fins off before it was shipped over.

Next Race is on Friday Feb 02, 2012, in Dubai.

Hope they get better and better.
