I've heard everyone talk about the 7 marine lowers not holding up to high speed etc. Is there really gonna be a +/- 500hp being released by Merc soon??
GORGEOUS new 44 DW!!!! |
.
If there is, Merc should put it on this cat and show off the new platform in Miami 2019 . |
So when you say revolutionize you mean a big cat that won’t cost more than a house? I’d say outboards on a bigger cat is evolution, not revolution. I’m sure it will be an awesome setup, but probably be close to the same price point as an I/o cat.

.
Hi, I chose 'revolutionize' because the design of this new cat surpasses all designs thus far to allow this massive beast to propel the boat, motors, passengers, and fuel to speeds that historically took lots of I/O power to attain. It's an evolution from the standpoint of SBI's Superboat Stock class' winningest performer, the DW32, further its an evolution from the DW360...a 36 foot cat reaching 120+ MPH with just twin 400R motors. If I may also add that the DW44 revolutionizes the way people are going to think about large cats with twin outboards. This cat will feed the market hungry for outboard power...with new more powerful outboard power from MercuryMarine. Let's watch where she goes from here.... . |
