Bravo transom assy- plastic fitting for res feed?

I'm working on a friends 32 fever, 2000, std bravos.

He had an impeller go out last season and the "hotter" exhaust cooked some rubber, both in the thru transom and the silent choice system, resulting in cooked bellows and a leak thru the shifter cable belows.

As I was replacing the bellows, part of the gimble (part with the 6 studs for the Bravo upper) was hanging off to the side by the hose fed from the drive oil reservoir.

It suddenly fell to the floor without warning. So I go looking for the barb it was attached to and I find a hex head plastic fitting at about 2 o'clock with gear oil dripping from where the (also plastic) hose barb was formerly attached. Yes, if I knew the hole deal was hanging on a plastic hose barb I would have done things differently.

How does this fitting come out? It can't be turned/threaded as there is a female hex feature close to two of the six hex flats. Is it a 1/4 turn situation? Just an o'ring pop it out thing? Some type of retention clip that will be a pain to get at on the back side of the engine?

I've got to chase the $5 dollar part down but the how to and actual changing it will probably be worse.

Thanks in advance for any help:drink:

You have to disconnect from inside boat. Remove hose going
to bottle and you will find a clip. Remove it and the fitting will
pull out from the outside. replace with a new one. we carry the parts you need.:D
