If someone could help me out on a ratio. Alpha 1

Hey guys does anybody know the gear ratio on a alpha 1 gen 1 that is backed behind a v-6.. I think I have it but need to reasure it.. I think it might be on the case but not sure and the boat isn't here for me to look.

Thanks John

hey john, It should be somewhere around a 1.84:1 depending on the year of the drive, or possibly 1.65:1. what size of prop is it turning???

Most of the Alphas I have seen behind 4.3's are 1.65 I would still check though it is stamped on the side of the upper half of the drive.

gear ratio

I had a v-6 in a 20 footer with the 1.84 ratio. I think I turned a 21P Laser2. Ran mid forties at 4900 RPM. I guess I could do the math.

Alot on the v-6 depends on the horespower of the original engine some of the 205 hp ones ran the 1.65 and the lower horsepower ran the 184 and some of them had either, I think it was the boat builders option on that drive

Thanks guys, i found the ratio on it, it is a 1.98, but that is what is there
