Changing prop rotation

My friend bought a 27 Profile with a Bravo 1 and it came with a left hand prop he is wanting to change it to a RH prop the local shops told him he had to change his upper gear set. I thought you just changed your shifting linkage to match direction.

What is the correct method to change to a RH prop?

Change the linkage. He can test the boat with the new prop by running it in reverse to make sure its what he wants to do.

Put an opposite prop on it and use it in reverse. Shouldnt be a problem. Or you could break open the drive and change stuff.

Nothing in the drive to change. It's done at the shifter.
