Trim Pump Just "Clicks"

Is the motor bad ? All I can get it to do is click..We have crossed over everything but it just clicks

there are 3 wires from the pump motor itself.....green blue and black....black goes to ground and green and blue are opposite rotations of the pump......give those wires some juice and see if the motor itself is good....if it works then you have bad relays....if not then you can rebuild the motor or just replace it....

Likely just a solenoid. They either work fine or not at all. Clicking is the tell-tale sign.

Just remember on the wire color. Blue- The ski is blue so thats the up side. Green- The grass is green so thats the down side. Black Ground

Easiest test to see if the solenoid is out is to get out your jumper cables, attach ground and power to battery and then run the positive to the bolt that the green wire is attached to....if the drive doesn't go down; it is probably the solenoid.

Do the same thing to the blue...if it doesn't go up; probably the solenoid.

It can be other things, as indicated in the attached link above, but people say those are less likely.

Please make sure you let us all know what it was...pet peeve is when people do not post results/fix.

Second biggest peeve is..."Hey I made some great appearance mods, they look great"...and the guy does not post any pics?

You did not say but I am assuming that it is not trimming in either direction? There are two heavy posts on the relays and two smaller ones. Make sure that you have power to one side of the heavy relays. If you do then you can try and jump across the terminals with either a screwdriver or I have even used a quarter. Make sure that your grounds are good. If all that checks out, while you are jumping the relay then tap the pump with a hammer. I have had the motors stick over the winter due to moisture and once you get them running they work fine. If all that fails pull the pump......

Yes the pump will NOT move either way..We have put a test light on all the wires and they do what they are supposed to do..(power when switch is moved either way) The solenoid just clicks when I move the switch up and down..I will clean all connections and try the jumper cables to each terminals then will post my results..Thanks again
