Adding a #6 Spacer
How easy is it?
Drain fluid remove studs insert spacer Add fluid back...................? Is there any specific torque the studs get tightened to? special tools? |
You can add spacers with drives still installed on boat.
No torque given on the studs. Install using a stud installer so you don't damage the threads. Apply 271 Loctite to studs before installing and tighten tight. The nuts holding the lower to the upper, tighten to 100 lb. ft. torque. Make sure when refilling unit, you fill properly according to the unit you have. Either WET Sump or DRY Sump there is a difference. If you should have any questions please call me at; 954 237 0332 |
Thanks John! It is a wet sump. Is the stud installer something I can buy at the hardware store?
|
or off the snap on truck.

drop the diameter and diminished the crabing, at 90
|
if you cant find a stud installer, put 2 nuts on each stud, tighten them against each other and use the outer one as your grab nut, make sure the stud holes are clean and then use locktite as above.
|
You are also going to need new oil tubes to compensate for the spacer.
