I am paying $6700.00 Canadian for a XR 1:50 reman from merc. Good deal??

I don't believe you can get the new style XR as a reman yet. When I was shopping last week, Merc said that they only reman the old style XR(pre 2005) right now. Has anyone heard any different? Also, best price I got for a new XR(old style was $6800 or 7400 for new style).

i bought a pair of uppers and one blew up after 4 hours, the driveshaft nut came off on the inside,,, merc sent a whole new upper and lower and paid a little towards labor, the upper was $2995 from land and sea but dont have any stickers on them

My reman drive comming is the old style. Supplier knows I have 750 plus hp, and told me if the drive is going to fail from assembly problem, it will in the first couple weeks, 10 hours. After that, I am on my own for warranty.

There is a brand new one in the classifieds for 6200. New style.
