Will Merc 3A or 5 fit on TRS Gimble?
 

have a customer who blew up a trs and wants a better drive, he wants 3a or 5, not sure if it fits on the trs gimble and if the x dimension is the same even if it will fit or needs to be raised, thanks

You Have To Explore The Konrad Trs Conversion. About 11 Grand Will Get You A Great Set-up. (at Least That's What Everyone On This Board Says!

The answer to your question about the interchangeability of the #3A-#5 SSM drives to a TRS gimble, the answer is no. You would need the #3-#5 gimble assm. and also, I believe, the appropriate tailstock for your transmission for #3-#5 drives. I'm almost sure that the TRS transmission tailstock, for a plug-in transmission, is different than one for the SSM drives.

As far as what can go with a Trs, If my memory is correct the 2a lowers can bolt onto a Trs upper if thats what your guy popped.

Answer is for sure no....I went thru it ...from trs to #3's. Need to change tail stocks, z-dim, and gimbles for sure.

No it will not. You should look at the Konrad conversion. It
will up grade far better than a III or IIIA. You need to check
the application we just did. Go to Drives and Lower Units. Any
