Where to go from here?

:drool:Currently have 86 21' scarab 1, running blown small block 540hp. My drive is a old style Bravo One, with a 27p three blade. With this set up I'm getting 84mph at 4700rpm, tried 26p and 25p cupped, both 82mph around 4800rpm, boat does not seem to get out of the water enough unless I use the 27p. I want to be at about 5000-5200rpm as this is where my engine peaks. Have been thinking extension box, nose cone, or maybe a shorter drive housing. I know some people talk about a x-measurement, which I believe is from bottom of boat to prop shaft. Mine measures 7 1/2", but I have no clue what it should be. Just trying to figure out what this years winter project will be. Thanks

Have you tried to run a 4 blade Bravo? these have good bow lift and may be just what you need. Try posting this in the props section. Might be others that run the same boat and can help.

I have tried a 4 blade, and it does get the boat out, but then I can't get her to settle down. I have tried many props, the 27p seems to be the one, for my current setup. As far as the boat goes the engine is where I want it, powerful yet reliable, steering is perfect, I think my next step is a diffrent style drive or modification to existing. Would prefer to not spend thousands, but I may have to.

when you said tride a 4blade and boat wont settle down is it chine walking if so think about longer trim tabs k's or something simaler this should settle it down and gain control' to gain a little more top end think about blue printing the haul posilable gain of 2 to 4 mph this will be the cheapest gain I did it on a 271 formula and gain 3.7 MPH cost just under 1500$ GOOD LUCK
