Bravo Maint.

okay,before somebody loses an eye,HELP!!!
I have been an auto tech for 24 years but, outdrives are
foreign to me. Do I need to remove gimbal to replace
the driveshaft bellows???
Any suggestions on where to get info. in print???

I would and have removed the gimbal or helmet when replacing bellows. You may be able to squeek the bellows out with the helmet on, but why kill youself. Standard gimbal or HP? If standard, just buy the $20 tool from Merc to unscrew the hinge pins, then just lay the helmet on the side. Remember, the hinge pins on a standard gimbal are Loctited in, they may take a bit of effort to break free.

Hp gimbals, have 4 screws holding the hinge pins in. Then just pull out the hinge pins.

A Bravo Bellows can easily be replaced without removing the Gimbal. You only have to remove the drive. I've done
many of them without any problem.
