Extension box on 29 Fountain

Has any one installed a extesion box on a 29 w/single 525 and is it worth it ? Thanks

I would check with Fountain and see if its a factory option on the boat. If it is or is not, you can bet they did some testing. You could also try the Fountain Forum.

I looked at a 29 with a 525 and ITS extension box. It came from the factory like that so it must work.

I called Fountain but they had no info, said that they did not test the smaller boats as much as the 35+ boats.

2004. It was at Ocean Performance in MD. Boat has since sold.

Im sure the its box will work fine, but its the longer and higher IMCO and stellings boxes that might put your drive up too high. You really dont need one since you have a notch transom.

Dude, what is a ITS box?

Check the Mercury Racing website - ITS is a 7" extended transom assembly with integrated hydraulic steering rams (like a #6 drive). Looks very clean. If you retrofit to an existing boat, it should be combined with a shorty lower to get good results.
