Align outdrives

How do I align my twin bravo outdrives? Do you "toe in or toe out". Where do you measure from? Will be putting them back on this weekend and want to adjust everything properly. Thanks

If your props swing out, toe out. If they swing in, toe in.
The amount of toe is usually about an 1/8".
The idea is to have them become parallel when under load.

You can measure the front and the rear edge of the skeg up near where it meets the bullet.

Hey Jim from the skeg ?? or from Bullet to center of propshaft ????

If you have a bullet. Prop shaft is good too. I find it easier to use the sharper edge of the skeg

i've heard both theories some say do the toe thing others say have them perfectly straight .... which is correct ?

On brand new 6's for example the movement is minimal. On bravos and outboards the load moves the units more. I saw on a boat with boxes and #4 swinging in touch props. They were a 1/2 apart at rest.

Have you ever noticed the wear pads on the sides of bravos all ground and scratched? I am sure opinions vary and different set ups get treated different but most everything moves under load and the idea is to true it under load.

O.K. so let me get this straight... my props spin outward, toe out would put the front of the outdrive 1/8" further apart from each other thus bringing in the center of the prop shafts. This assuming the "toe" is the leading edge of outdrive. Before measuring toe in or out what do you measure off of to true up the outdrive to insure you are starting off straight.
Sorry if all this sounds redundant.
Thanks

Trim them all the way in and straighten them is an easy way.
