Default 26 Velocity /1150 Hp, Whats the right drive??

I have a 26 Velocity, I'm currently building a Blown 540 that will be around 1000 hp on 93 and 1150 with more boost and race gas. I've racked my brains out trying to figure which will be the best drive for me and will also get me the best MPH I'm looking for. I've seen a similar 26 with a XR and imco lower run 110 on a radar run before but that's really really pushing that drive setup.. I've looked at arneson, B-max, Konrad, Imco, and #6's. I currently am also painting the boat and If I need to modify the stern now is the time. Whats the drive that will get me to 110MPH and won't Break the bank doing it and still be in one piece in the long run ? Anyone running a similar setup? Any comments are welcome. thanks JH

Brother your building more motor than boat. But hey we all have our vices. Over 1000hp you are going to need a # six or Arneson surface drive. All the bravos will start to break around 700-800hp

my 2 cents

I'm running almost 1K hp in my 24' cat, but I'm sure its a lot lighter than your setup. I'm running a XR IMCO upper with the IMCO shorty (large prop shaft) lower.

Have you thought about the Max Machine tower mod to your upper housing? No way in hell the drive is going to last very long unless you are super easy on the throttle and even then its going to be stressed on top speed runs.

Don't run a 5 blade prop

Don't slam the throttle

Change the drive oil every other weekend

Buy the best bravo parts

Come off plane and dunk the drive in the water after a speed run

These are the things I do and mine has lived 3 summers so far.

Your more brave than I that's alot of HP. I'm running a 280 Velocity and will be about 850 to 900 this year. I think you will be over 110 mph. I run a B-Max but it's only rated to 950hp. Maybe a #6.

You pretty much hit it on the head. It does not have a chance to break down. Even doing that and if you are very careful on the sticks being over 1000hp you are going to kill Bravo's
